​For most of the last hundred years, that was the picture of the movie business for the dreamer, the entrepreneur, the independent filmmaker who had the vision of a motion picture that he could actually finance and make and share with the world - himself. Without the blessing and hope of the wizard we know as “Hollywood”-- the studio system which bears a striking resemblance to Oz-- that visionary didn’t have a chance.
